Directions

Application: For best results, sweep brush from root to tip of lashes. Continue building volume until the desired lash look is achieved. Do not let dry between coats. Removes easily with soap and water or eye makeup remover.

Warnings

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this mascara in the #greatlashblue voxbox and I was excited to see that a product I so fondly remember my mother using when I was a little girl has made a comeback in a big way! First off I want to say thank you to @influenster & @maybelline for the free products for testing! This was my first #voxbox and I was incredibly excited to try on and review the makeup. Please keep in mind though the products were free my review is my own honest opinion... so now all that is out of the way, here it is. [product:maybelline-great-lash-royal-blue-mascara] comes in the cute and classic tradition bright pink and green tube we all know and love from maybelline great lash mascaras and it also has the same (I'd describe it as a more separated spiral bristle) lash building brush. As for the formula I love that it is smooth and not clumpy, it doesn't leave me with tarantula eyes and I love that I can keep building until I am satisfied with my look! When it comes to the color I also am satisfied with the results, I am a brunette with dark lashes and you definitely see a slight pop of color in most lights. Outside in the sun and in well light areas that slight pop becomes a wow! The royal blue really is a gorgeous color and gives even my everyday simple cateye and chapstick a fun wow factor without the overdone feeling. Just a tip: use a mascara primer, for those of you with dark lashes that really want the blue to pop more, it really helps to add to the drama!

I have been using Maybelline Great Lash Royal Blue mascara since 1975 and I am so bummed that you have discontinued producing this product. I am begging you to reconsider production of Royal Blue Mascara for the benefit of your long-time customers.

Worst mascara ever.Yes it's very black,but it never dries out.Never ever wear it if you go outside and it's snowy or rainy.Otherwise you will have panda eyes.Worse experience ever.

I started using this product after you discontinued the mascara in the white tube. That was the best mascara ever. To this day, I haven't found one I like as much as that one. I used to have to remove this mascara with a remover. Now it just flakes off like the ones that are not waterproof. Have you changed the formula?

If your like me and you find that over time your eyelashes start to turn a lighter colour then this is the mascara for you! This mascara changed my life. It adds so much bright colour and volume to your eyelashes. My eyes have never stood out so much before. I’ve had loads of friends commenting on it and asking what brand it was. I would definitely recommend this product!

I have used the Great Lash Washable Mascara for years. I cannot use the big wands and brushes. They are too hard to get close to your eyes and I cannot see around them if I do. I love the convenience of Washable. Please bring back this formula and the small, 3-sided comb you had in the 70s. It was the best!

This was my first mascara at the age of 12, in the 80s. I loved it! Back then the tube was the original round shape. At some point, the tube was changed to the square shape with a garish font on the label, both of which I find very unattractive. I know it's the results that count, but honestly I don't buy this mascara anymore because of how ugly I find the shape and font to be. Any chance Maybelline is thinking of doing a packaging update for this mascara?

Always used waterproof for years. Easy to remove with olive oil which is also good for the skin. Hard to find the brownish black tho.
